Brief History of Shiraz
Shiraz is one of the most populous city in Iran and it comes at fifth position in the population of Iranian cities, It was the capital of Fars province during Old Persian rulers. At the year 2011 census the population of Shiraz city was 1,700,665 and its built-up area “Shah-e Jadid-e Sadra” (Sadra New Town) was home to 1,500,644 residents. Shiraz is mainly located on the “Radkhanye Khoshak” also called dry river of Iran as it is seasonal river in the south-west of Iran.
